Some of the Best Diving and Snorkeling in Baja

Villa Los Frailes is located adjacent to the Cabo Pulmo Marine Park.  People come from all over the world to enjoy the diving in the park where you can explore the only living coral reef in Western North America, home to over 300 species of tropical fish.  The Los Frailes sea lion colony, located a five minute boat ride to the north, is accessible using the kayaks and outboard boats that are included with the villa rental.  Check out the underwater photo album to see for yourself.

There are three dive operators to choose from in Cabo Pulmo. We recommend Pepe's Outdoor Activity Center. Don't judge Pepe's by the humble look of the center. Pepe's is a top notch operation. The equipment is in good condition, and the people could not be friendlier or more helpful.

Pick-ups at the Villa by either boat or van can be arranged. You will be greeted by a bilingual host that can give you an orientation of the area and help you feel comfortable in your new surroundings.

One tank, two tank, and night dives can be arranged. All dives are from their covered panga which is much easier to get in and out of than you might think. Every dive includes a guide. Equipment rentals are available as well. Snorkeling tours are available for the non-divers. Manta Rays, Sea Lions, Whale Sharks, Hammerheads, Sea Turtles, schooling fish and tropical fish of all sorts can be seen on these dives. Cabo Pulmo hosts the only coral reef on the Pacific side of Mexico, so the coral is beautiful as well. We highly recommend trying a night dive because of the splendid colors displayed by the coral at night.

Due to the fluctuating sea conditions in Cabo Pulmo, diving is not always an option. For this reason, Pepe's hosts many other outdoor naturalist activities. Pepe is a steward of the land and the sea and can help you appreciate the natural wonders of the area.
